File compression that never leaves your device
MiniFiles processes files entirely in the browser using WebAssembly. No file ever reaches our servers — or any third-party server. Built for teams handling sensitive documents under GDPR, HIPAA, or internal data policies.
Built for teams that handle sensitive documents
Any team that needs to compress, share or protect confidential files without sending them to a third-party cloud service.
Legal & compliance teams
Compress and password-protect contracts, NDAs, and case files locally — no document ever reaches a third-party server. No GDPR Article 28 exposure from compression tools.
HR & recruiting
Compress CVs, employment contracts, and sensitive HR documents. Batch processing handles entire candidate pipelines without uploading to cloud services.
Healthcare & medical
Patient documents are processed 100% on-device. No BAA is needed to process files with MiniFiles, because the files never leave your device.
Finance & accounting
Compress invoices, financial statements, and tax documents privately. No file retention, no sub-processor receiving your clients' data.
Marketing & creative agencies
Batch compress images and PDFs for client campaigns. Process confidential brand assets without uploading to external tools.
Engineering & product teams
Compress assets for release pipelines locally. WebAssembly engines run in CI-adjacent browser contexts without sending files to third parties.
Everything included in Enterprise
One agreement covers your entire organisation.
Why "no upload" matters for compliance
Most compression tools — ILovePDF, Smallpdf, online PDF converters — upload your files to their cloud servers. That transfer triggers GDPR Article 28 (you need a signed DPA with every processor that receives personal data). MiniFiles eliminates this entirely.
Cloud-based tools (ILovePDF, Smallpdf…)
- ✗File transmitted to provider's server
- ✗GDPR Art. 28 DPA required
- ✗File retained on server (hours to days)
- ✗Third-party sub-processors receive your data
- ✗US-based servers require transfer mechanism (SCCs)
MiniFiles — local processing
- ✓File never leaves the browser
- ✓No Art. 28 obligations triggered for compression
- ✓Zero file retention — nothing to breach
- ✓No sub-processors receive file content
- ✓Works on EU-based devices — no cross-border transfer
Frequently asked questions
Do MiniFiles files ever leave our network?
No. All compression and PDF protection runs in the browser using WebAssembly. Files are read into browser memory, processed locally, and downloaded — they are never transmitted to MiniFiles servers or any third party.
Do you offer a GDPR Data Processing Agreement?
Yes. A signed DPA (GDPR Article 28) is included with Business and Enterprise plans. Contact us to request the agreement before or after purchase.
Can I use MiniFiles with HIPAA-protected documents?
Yes. No BAA is needed to process files with MiniFiles, because your files never leave your device: they are compressed, protected, merged or split in your browser and never sent to our servers, so MiniFiles never receives the PHI they contain. HIPAA still applies to your organisation (device security, storage, sharing), and HHS does not certify software, so we make no certification claim. Our Security page lists exactly what data we do receive, for your compliance officer to review.
Can we pay by purchase order or wire transfer?
Yes. Enterprise invoicing via PO and wire transfer is available. Contact us to set up billing outside of the standard Stripe checkout.
How many users are included in an Enterprise plan?
Enterprise plans are scoped per organisation, not per seat. All employees can use MiniFiles under a single Enterprise agreement. Contact us for pricing based on your organisation size.
What support is included?
Enterprise plans include priority support with a named contact and custom onboarding. Business plans include priority email support.
Ready to compress files without the compliance risk?
