How merging works in MiniFiles
- Processed on your device. Pages are copied into a new PDF with pdf-lib, a JavaScript library running in your browser tab. Nothing is uploaded.
- Page-level control. Every page is shown as a thumbnail, colour-coded by source file, so you can reorder, rotate or remove pages before saving.
- Images welcome. JPG, PNG, WebP and GIF images become one page each, so you can mix scans, photos and PDFs in a single document.
- Limitations. Password-protected PDFs can't be merged until the password is removed, and bookmarks (the document outline) from the original files are not kept.
- Free to use. Each merge counts as one use. Without an account you get 10 uses a day across all tools; a free account removes the daily limit. No file size limit on any plan.

Does MiniFiles upload my PDFs to merge them?
No. Merging happens entirely in your browser with pdf-lib. The PDFs are read and combined on your device and the result is saved straight back to it.
Can I change the page order?
Yes. Drag whole files to change their order, or open the page view to drag, rotate or delete individual pages before you merge.
Can I merge JPG images with PDFs?
Yes. Drop JPG, PNG, WebP or GIF images alongside your PDFs — each image becomes one page of the merged PDF.
Why can't I add a password-protected PDF?
Encrypted PDFs can't be read without the password, so they can't be merged. Open the file with its password and save an unprotected copy first.
Is there a limit on how many PDFs I can merge?
There is no limit on the number of files or their size — only your device's memory. Guests can run 10 operations a day; a free account removes the limit.
